Durkin entered from the bench in the 81st minute of a game that went into extra time. It was the second round of the cup. Over in the league, his new club sit in 10th place of the Belgian first division after eight matches and welcome defending champions Genk in their next game on Saturday.

The 19-year-old had made 13 appearances (seven starts) for D.C. this season before moving to Sint-Truiden. He's on loan until next summer, though the Belgian club hold an option to make the loan permanent.

Durkin was an integral piece of the US Under-20 national team that competed at this year's World Cup. He started four of the team's five matches in Poland ā€” only missing a game due to yellow-card accumulation ā€” and helped Tab Ramos' team make the quarterfinals. The defensive midfielder has appeared in 36 matches (23 starts) since signing as a Homegrown Player in June 2016.
