Montreal Impact to miss Piatti, Urruti and Bojan for LA Galaxy clash

Bojan Krkic with Montreal Impact

The Montreal Impact have a huge clash against the LA Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park on Saturday (10:30 pm ET | TVAS in Canada, MLS LIVE on ESPN+ in US), and now have an additional hurdle to overcome in their quest for a vital three points.

Three key players – attacker Ignacio Piatti, forward Maxi Urruti and midfielder Bojan Krkic – will not feature against the Galaxy having not made the trip to California, according to multiple local media outlets.

All three featured in Wednesday's Canadian Championship final Leg 1 win at Stade Saputo against Toronto FC, with Piatti notching the winner in a 1-0 victory

But Bojan and Urruti both exited that game injured, and Piatti, who has seen more than his share of injury issues this season, will be held back as previously planned by the club to rest ahead of the Canadian Championship final's Leg 2 next week.

The Impact are on the outside looking in at present for the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs, sitting just under the playoff line in the Eastern Conference, three points behind New England, having played one additional game.

But with the injuries and the Canadian Championship final – which offers a path to the 2020 Concacaf Champions League – ongoing, the rest of the squad will have to pull together to get a result over the Galaxy.
