D.C. United are hoping to make it two consecutive wins over Pacific Northwest teams following a gritty 1-0 victory at the Portland Timbers when they host a Seattle Sounders squad coming off a 0-0 home draw against FC Dallas Wednesday night.

Fifth in the East, but level on points with fourth-place Toronto FC, D.C. United (12-10-9) picked up a second straight win following three consecutive defeats, knocking off the Timbers, 1-0, at Providence Park Sunday afternoon. The lone goal came in the 25th minute when Ulises Segura sent a cross just inside the six-yard box. Bill Tuiloma slid in to intercept, but directed the ball into his own net.

The Sounders (14-9-8) remain in second place in the Western Conference following a 0-0 draw against FC Dallas at CenturyLink Field Wednesday night. Seattle were limited to just three shots on frame and finished the match with 10 men after Xavier Arreaga was sent off on his second bookable offense four minutes from full time.
