After moving into first place in the Eastern Conference, New York City FC will look to widen a two-point gap from second-place Philadelphia when they host a Toronto FC side that can further cement their playoff positioning with the club's first three points at Yankee Stadium when the Eastern Conference foes square off Wednesday night.

NYCFC (15-5-8) rallied from an early deficit to defeat the 10-man New England Revolution, 2-1, Saturday at Yankee Stadium. It was an eventful opening 10 minutes with the Revs going up a goal through Juan Fernando Caicedo in the second minute and down a man when Antonio Delamea was shown a straight red card for DOGSO following Video Review. Jesus Medina came off the bench to score a brace, including the stoppage-time penalty kick, which also came after Video Review.

Toronto FC (11-10-8) raced out to a three-goal lead inside the opening 30 minutes en route to a 5-1 win over FC Cincinnati Saturday at Nippert Stadium that moved the Reds into sixth place in the Eastern Conference, four points above the playoff line. Patrick Mullins, Nick DeLeon and Marky Delgado scored early and Michael Bradley and Nicolas Benezet tacked on goals to extend the lead to 5-0 before Emmanuel Ledesma scored a late consolation goal from the penalty spot for the hosts.

This is the second meeting this season with Toronto FC handing NYCFC their most lopsided defeat of the season, winning 4-0 at BMO Field March 29. Alejandro Pozuelo scored a brace on his TFC debut and Jozy Altidore and Jay Chapman added a goal in each half.
