TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Re-signed

Kacper Przybylko has emerged to become a regular scoring option in his first full MLS season, and he is now set to stick around for next year.

The Philadelphia Union announced on Thursday they have exercised Przybylko's 2020 contract option, guaranteeing his contract for next season, while also maintaining an additional club contract option for the 2021 season.

The 26-year-old has 12 goals and three assists in 21 league appearances for the Union this season, which leads the team. The Polish-German striker was signed in Sept. 2018 after a successful trial, but did not make his MLS debut until this year due to injuries.

“From the moment we signed Kacper, he has worked incredibly hard to become a key contributor to our team,” said Ernst Tanner, Union sporting director, in a statement. “Exercising his option was an easy decision for us as we continue to plan for 2020 and beyond while also aiming to finish 2019 strong.”

Philadelphia, currently in 2nd place in the Eastern Conference, will host the side sitting above them, Atlanta United, on Saturday at Talen Energy Stadium (7:30 pm ET | TV & streaming info).
