LAFC defender Diego Palacios named to latest Ecuador squad

Diego Palacios - Ecuador - U20s

After excelling at the U-20 World Cup in May, LAFC left back Diego Palacios is working to become a regular for the Ecuadorian national team.

Ecuador released their squad for the upcoming FIFA international window in September, and Palacios was included. It's just the second time the 20-year-old has been involved with the senior national team, as he made his debut last October in a 4-3 loss to Qatar.

Palacios joined LAFC from Ecuadorian club SD Aucas just before the MLS Secondary Transfer Window closed, despite interest from Barcelona and other clubs in Europe. The left back helped lead Ecuador to a third-place finish at the U-20 World Cup, eliminating the United States along the way.

He is yet to make his MLS debut with his new club.
