Questions still swirl around how long Luciano Acosta will be a D.C. United player, though he’s not the club’s only midfielder garnering interest from abroad.

Paul Arriola, also part of the US men’s national team, is getting serious looks from several clubs across Europe and Liga MX, according to a report from Roger Gonzalez of CBS. Arriola, 24, has 12 goals and 13 assists through 57 MLS matches since joining from Club Tijuana as the 2017 summer transfer window closed. He also came up through the LA Galaxy academy.

“I didn't hear that, honestly,” Ben Olsen said at training Tuesday about the Arriola reports. “But I would not be surprised if Paul has some interest around the world. He's a really good player and you watch him, you know what you're getting. Hopefully there's not too much interest and he can stay here.”

Further, Steven Goff of The Washington Post is reporting that D.C. has several new faces in camp this week.

The first is former USMNT midfielder Jose Francisco Torres, who has spent all 13 of his professional seasons in Mexico. The other trainee is former Atlanta United forward Gordon Wild, who was waived by the defending MLS Cup champions on July 17.

Torres, a technical center mid, has 26 caps with the USMNT, including one appearance at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. He hasn’t featured since the 2013 Concacaf Gold Cup, then under former coach Jurgen Klinsmann. He spent the majority of his career in Mexico with Pachuca and Tigres UANL, winning four Liga MX titles and three Concacaf Champions League championships.

Wild, 23, made zero appearances for Atlanta’s first team after being drafted in 2017. Rather, the German earned all his minutes in USL with Atlanta United 2 and the Charleston Battery.
