US national team to face Mexico on September 6 at MetLife Stadium

The US national team is set for a Gold Cup final rematch with Mexico, with the respective federations announcing Monday that the two teams will meet in a friendly on September 6 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.


The game will be a rematch of the Gold Cup final on July 7, which Mexico won 1-0. The meeting in September will also be the 70th edition of the biggest international rivalry in North America and will serve as preparation for both teams' participation in the Concacaf Nations League later in the fall.


The match is scheduled to start at 8:30 pm ET and can be seen on FS1, Univision and UDN. Tickets to the game will go on sale to the public on July 19 at 10 am ET through ussoccer.com.
