Atlanta United may be ready to add to their midfield depth with a familiar face in US national team circles.

According to Doug Roberson of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta United are negotiating with Bournemouth midfielder Emerson Hyndman. No deal is done yet, Roberson adds.

Hyndman, 23, was a staple of American youth national teams, but has struggled to find stability on the professional stage. He has spent time with Fulham and Bournemouth, while going on loan in Scotland to Rangers and Hibernian. He has made two Premier League appearances, and 28 in the Scottish first division.

The grandson of former FC Dallas head coach Schellas Hyndman, he spent a year with the FC Dallas academy before signing with Fulham and has two appearances with the senior national team.
