New York City FC put their unbeaten home record on the line Saturday night when they host the Eastern Conference-leading Philadelphia Union at Yankee Stadium.

NYCFC (5-1-8) return to MLS play from the Gold Cup break after making a bit of history in the U.S. Open Cup, winning their first two matches in the competition, including a come-from-behind 2-1 win over D.C. United at Audi Field in the Round of 16. Alexandru Mitrita canceled out Wayne Rooney's opening goal and Ismael Tajouri-Shradi followed with the decisive goal three minutes later to lead the Cityzens, who are unbeaten in their last 10 league tilts, into the USOC quarterfinals.

The Union (9-4-5) extended their unbeaten streak to four matches and maintained their lead atop the East by rallying for a 1-1 draw against the New England Revolution Wednesday at Gillette Stadium. Kacper Przybylko struck for the 84th-minute equalizer with a poacher's goal, canceling out Brandon Bye's first career goal in the first half.
