Nearly 15 months after being acquired from SC Braga, Los Angeles FC midfielder Andre Horta could be heading back to the same Portuguese side.

The 22-year-old Designated Player is reportedly moving back to Braga for around $2.5 million, according to a report from Portuguese outlet A Bola.

Horta, who finished the 2018 season with Braga, headed to MLS last summer and has since struggled to break into Bob Bradley’s side. Over the last year-plus, Horta has made 15 appearances and five starts, though hasn’t scored or assisted.

Those struggles come in stark contrast to what many expected, as Horta has three goals in nine appearances for Portugal’s U-21 team. He also has four goals and 10 assists across across 68 Primeira Liga appearances, plus some experience in European ocmpetition.

Should the Braga deal come together, LAFC would open a DP slot, with their other two occupied by Diego Rossi and league-leading scorer Carlos Vela.

Despite Horta’s struggle to break through, LAFC have gotten off to a flying start to 2019. They lead the early Supporters’ Shield race with 37 points through 16 matches and a comfortable league-best plus-26 goal differential, with Bradley typically opting for a midfield trio of Mark-Anthony Kaye, Eduard Atuesta and Latif Blessing.
