Atlanta United's Josef Martinez named MLS Player of the Week for Week 14

Josef Martinez was unstoppable this week, earning the Venezuelan international Player of the Week honors for Week 14.

Martinez had four goals, split evenly between two Atlanta United wins over Minnesota United then the Chicago Fire at Mercedes-Benz Stadium this week. He even debuted a new celebration.

Both goals of his first brace came in stoppage time of the club's 3-0 win over Minnesota, a pair of counter-attacking goals. His double against the Fire featured a cool first-time finish and another goal on the break.

Martinez, the reigning Landon Donovan MLS MVP, now has 10 goals on the season.

The MLS Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season through both media and fan voting in a process conducted by MLS Communications. A panel of journalists from the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) comprises 75 percent of the vote, while a Twitter fan vote represents the remaining 25 percent of voting. NASR consists of members of print, television, radio and online media.
