Arena's dual duties: Who else in MLS has head coach and front office role?

If working one job in Major League Soccer is demanding enough, can you imagine what two would be like?

Well, Bruce Arena is going to find out soon. The 67-year-old was appointed sporting director and head coach of the New England Revolution on Tuesday, joining a short list of current coaches to also have a title in the front office.

Vermes and Vanney have had success, each winning MLS Cup amid a cabinet of trophies.

In recent years, Gregg Berhalter is one of the most notable in MLS to hold dual titles.

While with the Columbus Crew, Berhalter was manager and sporting director. The now-USMNT head coach guided the Crew to the postseason in four of his five years in charge. Dominic Kinnear did so with the Houston Dynamo, guiding the club to back-to-back MLS Cups in 2006 and 2007 as head coach and general manager.
