NY Red Bulls' Kaku apologizes for actions that led to red card vs Sporting

It proved to be one of the most talked about incidents from Sunday's Week 7 clash between Sporting Kansas City and the New York Red Bulls.


Moments after Gianluca Busio's 88th-minute equalizer for Sporting, play was stopped for a Sporting Kansas City throw-in when a visibly frustrated Kaku smashed a ball in the direction of the fieldboards and stands, a reaction which earned him a red card from referee Robert Sibiga:

The New York Red Bulls organization does not condone the type of behavior displayed near the end of Sunday night's match in Kansas City. We hold everyone in our organization to a high standard of conduct. The matter will continue to be discussed internally and we will have no further comment at this time.
