TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
The Portland Timbers have been on the lookout for a Designated Player forward, and a new name is linked to the Western Conference club.
According to The Record, the Timbers are chasing Liga MX striker Brian Fernandez, who currently plays for Necaxa.

Fernandez, 24, has featured at right wing for the club, where he has 17 goals and four assists in 29 appearances since joining in 2018. He's previously spent time in Argentina (Racing Club), Chile (Union La Calera) and France (FC Metz). The Argentinian has featured at all positions across the front line, though mostly at striker before his time in Mexico.
The Timbers are next in action on the road against FC Dallas on Saturday (8 pm ET | MLS LIVE on ESPN+ in US, DAZN in Canada).
