TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
Lucho Acosta is reportedly a wanted man. Paris Saint-Germain have stiff competition if they choose to pursue the player again.
According to Pablo Maurer of The Athletic on Wednesday, Acosta has suitors from multiple countries, including England, Saudi Arabia and two from France as well as Turkish giants Fenerbahce.
On @TheAthleticSCCR: interest in acquiring Luciano Acosta is ramping up - I’m told now that clubs in England, France & Saudi Arabia have all expressed interest in bringing Lucho in this Summer: https://t.co/rkx5KOSAJL #DCU #MLS— Pablo Maurer (@MLSist) April 3, 2019
Acosta's contract is set to expire at the end of D.C. United's season, meaning the player can begin negotiating with other clubs to sign a pre-contract agreement beginning July 1. In such a scenario, Acosta would play out the rest of the season with D.C., then move to a new club on a free transfer once his contract expires.
The 24-year-old has a goal and two assists over D.C.'s first four matches as the club sit atop the Eastern Conference. They are next in action on Saturday against LAFC (3 pm ET | FOX in US, MLS LIVE on DAZN in Canada).
