The Fire have lost two of their first three games, including a 4-2 home defeat to the Seattle Sounders in Week 3, while the Red Bulls are 1-1-1 in 2019 following a 1-0 home loss to Orlando City SC.

Bradley Wright-Phillips scored the lone goal to lift the Red Bulls to a 1-0 win over the Fire in the last meeting in Bridgeview in August.
