Carlos Vela swings for the fences after his leveler at Yankee Stadium

Carlos Vela continued his strong start to the season with his third goal of 2019 just before halftime of LAFC's Sunday tilt at New York City FC.

Then the Mexican Designated Player paid homage to America's Pastime, pantomiming his best home run swing at Yankee Stadium.

Vela isn't the first to poke fun at NYCFC playing in the home of the most famous baseball team on the planet. Former New York Red Bulls defender Matt Miazga did something similar after scoring in the first year of the NY Derby.

Well before that, US men's national team legend Clint Dempsey also gave it a wallop after heading in the match-winner for the New England Revolution in a 4-3 win over D.C. United back in 2005. That was the first of three years D.C. shared RFK Stadium with the Washington Nationals.
