Report: Toronto FC to sign Ligue 2 goalkeeper Quentin Westberg?

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report

Toronto FC already have a US international at goalkeeper in Alex Bono, but apparently the club are interested in signing a former US youth international 'keeper.

According to Kristian Dyer of The Athletic, TFC are set to sign Quentin Westberg, a dual-national keeper playing for Ligue 2 side AJ Auxerre.

Westberg, 32, represented the US at various youth levels, but has spent most of his career in France. Prior to joining Auxerre, Westberg played for fellow Ligue 2 side Tours FC and ES Troyes AC.

Though most used as a backup throughout his career, Westberg is enjoying the busiest season of his career with 13 appearances this season, bettering his previous career high of eight. He has 38 career Ligue 2 appearances and four in France's top flight.

Born to an American father and French mother, Westberg was a part of the 2005 U-20 World Cup team coached by Sigi Schmid that beat Lionel Messi and Argentina.
