Former Sounders Homegrown and LAFC loanee Aaron Kovar retires

Former Seattle Sounders academy product and LAFC loanee Aaron Kovar announced his retirement from professional soccer Sunday night.  


The 25-year-old was out of contract following the 2018 season, in which he made 11 appearances for LAFC. He retires having made a total of 43 MLS appearances over five professional seasons between the Sounders and LAFC. 

Kovar was Washington’s Gatorade High School Player of the Year in 2011 before starring at Stanford University for two seasons, where he won Pac-12 Freshman of the Year in 2012.
