DC United 1, FC Cincinnati 1 | 2019 Preseason Match Recap

Roland Lamah and Lucho Acosta - FC Cincinnati vs DC United - February 7, 2019

Expansion side FC Cincinnati came from behind to tie D.C. United 1-1 in a preseason exhibition played at IMG Soccer Fields in Bradenton, Florida.

In a match which represented the first preseason action for US national teamers Paul Arriola and Russell Canouse for D.C. United, the Black-and-Red were the better first-half team and took the lead through Lucho Acosta

Both teams made several substitutions to start the second half and Wayne Rooney also came into the match for DC in the 63rd minute. But it was 2019 MLS debutants FC Cincinnati that found the back of the net to equalize with nine minutes remaining as Nazmi Albadawi beat DC goalkeeper Chris Seitz.

Cincinnati Enquirer reporter Pat Brennan reported that a handful of FC Cincinnati players sat out the match due to injury precaution, including Kendall Waston who was in street clothes.

FC Cincinnati are back in preseason action against Indy Eleven on Feb. 12 in Westfield, Indiana, while D.C. United will participate in next week's Suncoast Invitational beginning with a match against the host Tampa Bay Rowdies on Feb. 16 at Al Lang Stadium.
