In their first preseason match of 2019, the Portland Timbers dominated Saprissa in Costa Rica to the tune of a 4-0 win.

Many of the Timbers' stars, including Diego Valeri and Sebastian Blanco, did not feature in the match as Lucas Melano led the Timbers with a first-half brace as Dairon Asprilla and Tomas Conechny provided the other goals.
