Philadelphia Union - New York Red Bulls - preseason - 2019

Eastern Conference foes Philadelphia Union and New York Red Bulls squared off in a clash for Preseason presented by Advocare in Clearwater, Fla. on Wednesday, with the Union emerging the winner, by a 3-2 scoreline.


Cory Burke opened the scoring for Philadelphia, followed by tallies from Fafa Picault and Anthony Fontana, as the Union raced to a 3-0 lead. Fontana picked up two yellow cards in the second half, and left the game, but as is common in preseason games, the teams continued to play 11-v-11.

From there, the Red Bulls attempted a rally, with Alex Muyl scoring a penalty to put New York on the board, followed by Amro Tarek scoring on a header off a set piece.
