Former Chicago Fire right back Matt Polster signs for Rangers

Matt Polster - Rangers

It's official: Matt Polster will not be returning to the Chicago Fire

The right back signed for Scottish outfit Rangers after receiving a work permit, the club announced Wednesday.

“This is something that I’ve always dreamed about doing," Polster said, via the official club site. "As a little boy, a lot of people would know that I wanted to play in Europe, before even going to MLS. To finally do it, for this kind of club has left me feeling speechless in a way."

The 25-year-old made 82 appearances across four seasons with Chicago, though missed most of 2018 with an injury.

Polster will be far from the first American to feature for Rangers, following Claudio Reyna, DaMarcus Beasley, Maurice Edu and Carlos Bocanegra before him.
