FC Dallas name Eric Quill first head coach of USL side North Texas SC

Eric Quill, a former nine-year veteran of Major League soccer who spent a season with the then-Dallas Burn, will be the first coach of FC Dallas' USL League One affiliate North Texas SC, the teams announced Thursday.


ā€œIā€™m ready for this next step in my coaching career and I couldnā€™t pick a better organization to help me grow as a head coach and leader,ā€ Quill said in a statement. ā€To have the opportunity to play for the Hunt family and now coach for the organization is truly an honor.ā€

Quill holds a U.S. Soccer Federation ā€œAā€ coaching license and was previously technical director of Texans Soccer Club Houston in charge of player development, coaching development and technical training curriculum. As academy director and U-18 head coach, Quill guided Texans SC to its first ever national title when it won the US Development Academy U-18 Championship in 2017.


He also has experience at the youth international level, previously serving as an assistant for the US U-15, U-17 and U-19 squads.


Quill scored 12 goals and added 31 assists during his nine seasons in MLS while playing for the Tampa Bay Mutiny, Kansas City Wizards, NY/NJ MetroStars and the Dallas Burn.
