Tyler Adams had an eventful first day with RB Leipzig.
The 19-year-old midfielder, who transferred to Leipzig after coming up through the New York Red Bulls organization, is currently the German Bundesliga side’s only new signing in the newly-opened January transfer window, which meant all eyes were on the US international.

Adams joined his new teammates for the first time on Friday, an open training session watched by about 500 fans. By all accounts Adams assimilated well, with some assistance from his former Red Bulls head coach Jesse Marsch, an assistant at Leipzig.

After training, Adams met with the German media, showing off a little bit of what he’s been working on since the end of the MLS season by starting off the press conference in German.
"Hallo, ich bin Tyler", sagt #RBLeipzig-Neuzugang #Adams. Dann muss er aber lachen. 😀 @tyler_adams14 @rb_fans https://t.co/jeRUMfYonN pic.twitter.com/YdOpbjUrK0

Adams also had a light moment at the press conference with Leipzig coach Ralf Rangnick, who joked with him about having a German girlfriend.
