An experienced South American goalkeeper is eyeing a winter move to MLS, according to multiple media reports across the continent.


Paraguayan international Antony Silva is set to leave Cerro Porteño this winter and MLS is a leading possibility for his next destination, with the most recent report coming from Paraguay’s D10. The 34-year-old is fresh off winning the APF's (Paraguayan first division) golden gloves award as the top-rated 'keeper in the top flight.


That post does not mention a specific team in North America, but last month 90min.com linked Silva to New York City FC. Interestingly, Silva was linked to the New York Red Bulls back in 2010, though a move never materialized.


The ‘keeper has earned 21 caps for his country over the years, including Copa America action, and has plied his trade for a multitude of clubs across Argentina, Brazil and Colombia in addition to his homeland since making his first-team debut for Libertad in 2003, highlighted by regular participation in Copa Libertadores play.
