Nashville's MLS team has officially made their second signing ahead of their debut season, announcing on Thursday the signing of 2018 USL Golden Boot winner Cameron Lancaster.

Lancaster joins from Louisville City FC, where he helped lead the team to back-to-back USL Championships the last two years. Ahead of Nashville's entry in MLS in 2020, Lancaster will be loaned to Nashville SC of the USL Championship for the 2019 season.

“Cameron’s pedigree in English soccer and goal scoring ability here in the US make him an ideal target at this stage of building our club,” said Nashville MLS CEO Ian Ayre in a team statement. “We are thrilled he will be joining us on our path to Major League Soccer, and we look forward to welcoming him to Nashville.”

The London native broke USL records in 2018, scoring 25 goals in the regular season to break the all-time single season record, and was a finalist for USL MVP. A product of Tottenham Hotspur's academy, Lancaster spent time with several English clubs at the professional level before moving stateside to Louisville in 2015.

Lancaster is the second player signed by Nashville's MLS team, joining fellow forward Daniel Rios.
