LA Galaxy to rename stadium Dignity Health Sports Park in 2019

The LA Galaxy will rename their stadium Dignity Health Sports Park in 2019, the club announced Thursday.

It had been named StubHub Center since June 1, 2013 after opening as the Home Depot Center in 2003.

Dignity Health, one of the nation’s largest health care systems, will have exclusive naming rights to the stadium and will be the Galaxy's official health care partner. The club announced that the partnership will extend past just the stadium, as it is "specifically designed to give back to Los Angeles communities" with a wide range of health and wellness programs.

“Dignity Health is dedicated to providing excellent care for those in need, and as the new naming rights partner for one of AEG’s marquee facilities, we look forward to working with them to amplify our efforts to make a positive and lasting difference for all our fans,” said Dan Beckerman, President and CEO of AEG in a media release. “Sports has the power to bring people together, and Dignity Health is the perfect partner to help us highlight and support the LA community that surrounds the LA Galaxy and Dignity Health Sports Park.”

The stadium has hosted MLS Cup six times, most recently in 2014 when the Galaxy won their fifth title.
