Kansas City Chiefs, including Patrick Mahomes, attend Sporting KC match

THUMB ONLY - Kansas City Chiefs - at Sporting KC game

One night only, a group of Kansas City Chiefs players went out in public wearing blue, and they were happy to do so.

The NFL players, which included breakout star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, traded their trademark red for blue and came out to support Sporting Kansas City in their Audi 2018 MLS Cup Playoffs Western Conference Championship second leg match against the Portland Timbers at Children's Mercy Park on Thursday.

Not only did they brave the frigid temperatures — although these athletes are used to playing in the elements, let's be real — but the Chiefs players also helped rile up The Cauldron before the match with an "I Believe" chant, led by tight end Travis Kelce.

Mahomes was sure to get in the act in the stands to support the fellow Kansas City team before getting back to his season, with the Chiefs atop the AFC West at 9-2 at present.
