TRANSFER TRACKER: Re-signing

Sporting Kansas City have signed veteran left back Seth Sinovic to a new contract for the 2019 season, the club announced Monday.

The 31-year-old has helped Sporting KC win four major trophies — three U.S. Open Cup (2012, 2015, 2017) and one MLS Cup (2013) since joining his hometown team in 2011. He ranks 10th in club history with 228 appearances across all competitions.

Sinovic, who has four goals and 15 assists all-time, has started 21 games out of 25 appearances in all competitions this season. The Leawood, Kansas native helped guide a Sporting defense that conceded the third fewest goals in MLS this season.

Sinovic, who started his MLS career with the New England Revolution in 2010, has rebounded from a pair of difficult seasons in 2015 and 2016, to again be a regular starter. He and Sporting will continue their quest for another MLS Cup when they host Portland in the second leg of the Western Conference Championship on Thursday evening (9:30 pm ET | ESPN, ESPN Deportes; TSN2, TVAS2).
