US men's national team to play Costa Rica at Avaya Stadium in February

Francisco Calvo vs. Christian Pulisic - US national team vs. Costa Rica

The US men's national team will face Costa Rica at the San Jose Earthquakes' Avaya Stadium on Feb. 2, U.S. Soccer announced Tuesday. It is expected to be the second game of the annual January camp and will be broadcasted on FS1 and Univision networks.

The match against Costa Rica will likely be the second match in charge for whoever is appointed as the team's new head coach. The last time the team played at Avaya Stadium, they beat Honduras 6-0 in a World Cup Qualifier on March 24, 2017.

On Tuesday the US will play their final game of 2018 against Italy. In friendlies after the 2018 World Cup, the USMNT beat Mexico, drew Peru and lost to Brazil, Colombia and England.

The United States has an overall record of 14-17-6 against Costa Rica. Their friendly will come on the 16-year anniversary of the USA’s 2-0 victory against Costa Rica in the 2002 Concacaf Gold Cup final.
