After a scintillating first season in MLS, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been linked with a return to one of his former clubs.

AC Milan are attempting to sign the LA Galaxy's Ibrahimovic on a six-month permanent contract with a year-long extension that kicks in if Milan clinch Champions League qualification, both Italian journalist Vito Angelè and Italian outlet Tuttosport have reported.

Prior reports of Ibrahimovic's potential move to Milan stated the two sides were quibbling over contract length, as the club preferred six months while Ibrahimovic wanted 18 months.

Ibrahimovic scored 22 goals and added 10 assists in 27 appearances for LA Galaxy this season, but the club fell one point short of reaching the playoffs after falling to the Houston Dynamo3-2 on Decision Day.

The 37-year-old spent two seasons with AC Milan from 2010-12, scoring 56 goals in 85 appearances across all competitions. It is rumored to be the favorite of his former clubs.
