Fictional Audi 2018 MLS Cup Playoff draft: Who would you pick?

The Audi 2018 MLS Cup Playoff field is set. 12 teams will be battling it out to hoist the Philip F. Anschutz trophy on Dec. 8. But what about the players on the 11 other teams? What if they could be traded to the teams participating in the playoffs?

The ExtraTime Radio crew had some fun on Monday afternoon and decided to hold an impromptu draft on Twitter. The rules? Playoff teams get to select one player to add to their teams for the playoffs with the pool of eligible players coming from the teams that did not reach the postseason. The teams picked in order starting at the top of the Supporters' Shield standings. MLSsoccer.com's Bobby Warshaw, Matt Doyle, Andrew Wiebe, David Gass, Ben Baer and producer Anders Aarhus were the selectors.

With the 3nd pick in the draft, Sporting KC select Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Still starting Khiry Shelton though 😂😂😂@empiregass is up with the fourth pick, representing the Seattle Sounders.

With the 7th pick, NYCFC select Alphonso Davies. Davies will slide into the starting lineup at left back.

With the 9th pick, D.C. United select Rod Fanni. Fanni will partner with Steve Birnbaum in central defense.

With the 11th pick in the draft, the Union select Dom Dwyer. Tough one between him and Manotas but decided to go with the MLS Cup winner.@Sportsviking is up with the 12th and last pick, representing RSL

With the 12th and final pick in the draft, RSL select Dax McCarty.

Tough to decided between him and Jona dos Santos. Dax will replace Sunny, cover ground in front of Kyle Beckerman, and get the ball to the feet of RSL's talented attackers.
