The Independent Panel, consisting of one representative from the United States Soccer Federation, one representative from the Canadian Soccer Association, and one representative nominated by the Professional Referee Organization, has unanimously rescinded the one-game suspension and accompanying fine for the red card issued to Colorado Rapids defender Deklan Wynne for serious foul play in the 51st minute of Colorado’s match against Columbus Crew SC on September 22.
In addition, the Independent Panel has denied Minnesota United FC’s appeal of the red card issued to midfielder Fernando Bob for violent conduct in the 89th minute of Minnesota’s match against the Portland Timbers on September 22.
Each Club is entitled to two unsuccessful appeals per season, including playoffs. Since Colorado’s appeal was successful, the team maintains its two unsuccessful appeals for any future dismissals in the 2018 season (including the playoffs). Since Minnesota United’s appeal was unsuccessful, MNUFC has one unsuccessful appeal remaining this season.
