TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Rumor
George Bello may have only made his MLS debut last Sunday in Atlanta United's 3-1 loss to D.C. United, but Italian outlet Calcio Mercato reports there's already a long line of European clubs courting the 16-year-old defender.
Among them: Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.
According to the report, City lead a list of clubs that also includes fellow Premier League sides Chelsea and Everton, Serie A clubs Genoa and Roma, and Schalke of the Bundesliga. However, players that do not have an EU passport cannot transfer to Europe before the age of 18.
Bell has spent the majority of his career as a US youth international. In April of 2017, Bello was a part of the U-15 squad that won the prestigious Torneo Delle Nazioni (Tournament of Nations). The US won all four matches he started, including the championship against England.
