Medina, 21, joined NYCFC this offseason from Club Libertad and has enjoyed an impressive first season in MLS, with six goals and seven assists in 24 appearances. He has been used in various attacking positions by Vieira and current manager Dome Torrent this season.
The attacker has helped lead NYCFC to a Supporters' Shield challenge this season, while Vieira's Nice career began with a home loss to Stade Reims last weekend.
