Montreal Impact trade versatile Raheem Edwards to Chicago Fire

Raheem Edwards - Montreal Impact - Close up

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Trade

After a breakout 2017 campaign with Toronto FC, Raheem Edwards found himself with the Montreal Impact to start 2017 after being selected in the Expansion Draft by LAFC. But his stay in Quebec did not last very long, as the Impact traded him on Wednesday.

This time the destination is Chicago, as the Fire traded $400,000 in Targeted Allocation Money to Montreal in exchange for the 23-year-old Canadian.

Edwards can slot in on the wing or at wingback and has appeared in 14 games for the Impact, scoring two goals. He had six assists in just over 1,000 minutes for Toronto in 2017.

Edwards began his professional career as a member of Toronto FC II in 2015, and joined the first team in 2016.

The Toronto native debuted for the Canadian National Team on June 13, 2017, and was named to Canada’s roster for the 2017 Concacaf Gold Cup.
