Houston Dynamo goalkeeper Tyler Deric has been reinstated following his suspension, and is now permitted to return to team activities and competition, Major League Soccer announced Thursday.

Deric will be loaned to Houston's USL affiliate Rio Grande Valley FC in a transaction that is set to be finalized in the coming days.

Deric was suspended by the league on November 1, 2017 in connection with his arrest and charge of misdemeanor assault in connection with an alleged domestic incident. To date, he has been suspended from 19 MLS matches.

On May 22, 2018, the Harris County District Attorney entered into an Order of Deferred Adjudication and placed Deric on community supervision. Provided that he completes a year-long diversion program, all charges against Deric will be dismissed.

Based on the league's review, the District Attorney's resolution and the length of the suspension already served, Deric was reinstated, subject to continued compliance with the Order of Deferred Adjudication.
