Tyler Adams' coach has been linked to a move to RB Leipzig, and now the New York Red Bulls midfielder has, too.

Kristian Dyer reported in Metro on Saturday that according to several sources, Adams is "closing in on a deal" with RB Leipzig, which just completed their second season in the Bundesliga. According to the report, the proposed transfer could take place for Adams to move to Germany this summer, or at the conclusion of the current MLS season.

Adams, 19, is a Homegrown signing and a rising star in American soccer. Already in his third season as an MLS player, he has been a regular contributor for the Red Bulls since last year and has three caps for the US national team. Capable of playing multiple roles in midfield or at fullback, the New York native has been rumored to be on the radar of European clubs.

The report comes on the heels of a separate report on Friday linking Red Bulls head coach Jesse Marsch to the vacant manager position at RB Leipzig. With the clubs part of the same network of soccer teams under the Red Bull umbrella, the Red Bulls and RB Leipzig have used similar methods for building their rosters and both emphasize an energetic style of play on the field.
