TRANSFER TRACKER: Report
Zlatko Junuzovic announced the end of his six-and-a-half year run at SV Werder Bremen on Monday with word that the next stop in the Serbian free kick specialist’s career is Major League Soccer.
“It was a decision that was not easy for me,” the 30-year-old midfielder told fussballtransfers.com. “I experienced six very emotional years at Werder. Bremen was my first stop abroad, Werder gave me a chance to prove myself in one of the best leagues in the world. Here I became a captain and always wore the jersey proudly.”
The article lists the Philadelphia Union, Chicago Fire and Orlando City SC as suitors and claims the Lions could win the race for the Austrian international's signature. Orlando have been linked most heavily with Junuzovic over the last few weeks.
The 30-year-old appeared in 21 Bundesliga matches so far this season, racking up two goals and five assists. He has registered 55 caps and seven goals with Austria while on international duty.
