Columbus Crew SC announced the signing of two of their 2018 SuperDraft selections on Thursday, adding goalkeeper Ben Lundgaard and midfielder Luis Argudo to the club’s first-team roster.

Lundgaard, 22, was selected in the first round (21st overall) after four seasons at Virginia Tech, where the Wilmington, Delaware native made 70 appearances (all starts) and registered 23 shutouts.

Argudo, also 22, was a third-round pick (67th overall) for Crew SC after two strong seasons at Wake Forest University from 2016-2017, the product of Queens, New York bagging nine goals and 10 assists in 48 appearances (40 starts).

“Ben and Luis quickly integrated into the team and earned a spot on the roster based on their strong work ethic during preseason,” said Columbus sporting director and head coach Gregg Berhalter in a club release. “We look forward to working with them and seeing their continued development during the 2018 season.”

With the addition of Lundgaard and Argudo, Crew SC's current 2018 roster now stands at 27 players. The Black-and-Gold open their 2018 season at Toronto FC on Saturday (1 pm ET | TSN1/4/5 in Canada, MLS LIVE in US).
