Atlanta United have unveiled their new secondary kit for the 2018 season, and it's tasty enough to bake into a cobbler.
Dubbed "King Peach," in tribute to Georgia's most famous fruit as well as a memorable tifo it inspired from the Five Stripes faithful at a victory over New York City FC at Bobby Dodd Stadium last spring, the new shirt features a similar pale silver-gray hue to last year's edition, bearing a geometric pattern that resembles both a soccer ball's panels and the roof of Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
And its crest and other logos offer a peachy new splash of color.
"Draped on street corners, bridges, license plates, and more," explain ATL UTD in an accompanying release, "the quintessential peach color blankets the city, serving as a constant reminder of our roots. From Bankhead to Buckhead, Duluth to Decatur, Marietta to Midtown –– diversity is our strength, but the peach binds us to this place we call our home. Now we sport it on our chest, players and fans, on the field and in the stands. It’s more than a fruit. It defines us. What others view as sweet, we view as swagger. We are made in the ATL."
