LAFC draw Toronto FC 2-2 in expansion club's first-ever preseason match

LAFC took the pitch together for a live match for the first time in the expansion club's history on Friday, pulling out a 2-2 draw against defending MLS Cup champion Toronto FC in a match played in Los Angeles.

Costa Rican international Marco Urena hit a brace in the second half as the hosts twice came from a goal down. For Toronto, Tsubasa Endoh scored in the first half before Sebastian Giovinco hit the back of the net in the second.

LAFC were without Designated Player signing Carlos Vela, who participated in the Mexican national team's friendly victory against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Wednesday. Even so, the encounter provided fans a long-awaited look at how coach Bob Bradley's squad might play when the games start for real on the first weekend in March.

Meanwhile, the match was the end of the first phase of Toronto's preseason. After a brief stop back home, coach Greg Vanney's squad depart Tuesday for a week-long camp Mexico City ahead of their CONCACAF Champions League fixture at the Colorado Rapids on Feb. 20
