Following word last week that Minnesota United FC were looking to find their new playmaker in Colombian midfielder Nicolas Benedetti, comes a new report that the club continues to pursue him, from Minnesota-based reporter Jeff Rueter.
Paul Tenorio's original report said the Loons were offering a $4 million bid for Benedetti. According to Rueter's report on ESPN, after the sides were initially far apart on a deal, they have recently found middle ground and could complete a deal.
The 20-year-old plays for hometown side Deportivo Cali. The midfielder, nicknamed "The Poet," has experience playing in both the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana in addition to the Colombian top flight.
