New York City FC bring top prospect Giovanni Reyna to preseason camp

New York City FC have been busy this offseason, and with preseason camp underway, they are looking at all options to challengeToronto FC for MLS supremacy.

One of those options could include top prospect Giovanni Reyna, the son of NYCFC sporting director Claudio Reyna, who was brought down to Jacksonville for preseason training along with four other Academy teammates.

Reyna won the Golden Ball in the Premier Division at last year's Generation adidas Cup, helping his team win the tournament's secondary competition. A US Soccer scout told MLSsoccer.com in April that he is one of the "four or five best players in the entire pool."

SI.com previously reported that the 15-year-old was eyeing a move to Europe in 2018 after signing with an agent and adidas.

Either way, this story is one to keep an eye on for NYCFC fans. You can read more about Reyna here.
