TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
It looks like Cubo might stick around after all.
After reports surfaced over the weekend that Liga MX side Veracruz was interested in Houston Dynamo striker Erick “Cubo” Torres, ESPN’s Jeff Carlisle reported on Tuesday that no deal was stuck between the two teams after "days of negotiations." Club sources confirmed to MLSsoccer.com that a deal was unlikely to be reached.
The 24-year-old Mexican set a Dynamo record with 14 goals last season, helping Houston qualify for the MLS Cup Playoffs. He had been loaned by Houston to Liga MX sides Chivas Guadalajara in 2015 and Cruz Azul in 2016 after scoring 22 goals in MLS for Chivas USA across the 2013 and 2014 campaigns.
