Seattle-area reporter and columnist Niko Moreno posted Twitter Sunday that he had been informed that the Seattle Sounders have "serious interest" in obtaining 20-year-old Panamanian striker Ismael Diaz, per a source.
However, Diaz's agent has said the Sounders have not contacted him about his client, per a Tweet from Panamanian American media personality Alvaro Martinez.
As fan blog Sounders at Heart notes, Seattle were also linked with Diaz last summer after he made three appearances for Panama in the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup, scoring once.
Instead, he moved from Portugal's second division to the third tier in Spain with Deportivo Fabril, where he's scored six goals in 12 league appearances. Fabril is the reserve side of La Liga club Deportivo La Coruna.
