Another player could be making his way from Uruguay to MLS, according to a report.

Uruguayan journalist Wilson Mendez tweeted on Tuesday that 21-year-old center back Yeferson Quintana is “close” to moving to MLS from Peñarol.

Quintana made 22 appearances for Peñarol in 2017, scoring three goals and starting 17 times to help the club to the Uruguayan Primera title. He’s made 26 league appearances and played 29 times for the club in all competitions since turning pro in 2016. He doesn’t have any experience at any level for any of Uruguay’s national teams.

Diego Rossi already made the move from Peñarol to MLS this winter, with the 19-year-old forward signing a Designated Player deal with LAFC in December.
