Conflicting reports out of Poland suggest the Philadelphia Union may or may not have made a big for 23-year-old center back Jaroslaw Jach.

As fan blog Brotherly Game notes in a thorough breakdown of the situation, one report has the newly capped Polish international linked to Philadelphia, while others suggest he is more likely to depart the Polish top flight for Italy or Germany.

But Brotherly Game explains how Jach would fill a profile coveted by technical director Earnie Stewart: that of a left-footed center back.

Jack Elliott had a strong rookie season on Philadelphia's back line. But central defense is certainly a position of need for the Union, who declined the contract option of 35-year-old Oguchi Onyewu after the 2017 season.
